Pretty good! My parents finally made it out here with my car and all my stuff, so we're going to go out to dinner once they've found a motel and gotten a shower. That aside, I have lots of reading to do in preparation for my research, but that's to be expected of course.
Well, sort of. Originally I was going to get here, drop off my stuff, and head right into fieldwork after a couple days, but the paperwork from the state on my funding hasn't come through yet for a number of reasons, so instead I get to spend this semester reading and planning and then I'll start research in spring. Which is a shame in that I'll miss out on this fall's migration, but the extra prep time is going to be extremely helpful. And it means I can get a bird earlier. :) I still want a Coops but I'm thinking for a small apartment, another kestrel may make more sense, at least for now. Or a merlin if I can find one. That would be pretty sweet.
