CHECK OUT MY NEW DEFAULT ICON!! :DDDDDD

This is the icon [livejournal.com profile] boko made me for my birthday, because she loves me and she is AWESOME.

Those of you who have met Zolac before will enjoy the hilarity that results from a mental comparison of my wacko bizarre 2-D sketches to this shiny 3-D realism work of art.

For those of you meeting Him for the first time, may I introduce Zolac, my patron god and the imaginary friend of my late teenage years. He is the source of all my power, and he throws some pretty sweet parties too.

<3 <3 <3 Sistah, you're the best!

LOL! Holy crap I'm glad I got that right! See, in the planning of this I vaguely recalled what he looked like as a drawing and wasn't quite sure if they were antlers or... lightning bolts coming out of his head... I'd even gone so far as to find a few reference pictures of forked lightning in the beginning. So glad I went with my gut feeling instead of my crazy imagination >.>

(I'd honestly went so far as to thinking that /I/ had assumed they were antlers and had taken it for granted that they might have been lightning bolts and gee, I'm soooo inconsiderate! How could I not have thought they might have been lighting??? ><)

Hehehee, yeah my brain is odd.

But in all reality I can't take all the credit. I actually took two images from the internet and stitched them together!

It did take a bit to maneuver everything into place: For one, the human skull had diagram lines all over it and I had to erase them all and refill all the detail that got lost in the erasing process. Also, the original skull still had its jaw, so I erased that and had to moved the "shadows" back in. Then came the antlers, which I pilfered from an elk. I had to separate the left and right rack so that I could place them on this skull realistically (and you can't really tell, thankfully, but the two pics were of slightly different quality, so I had to adjust levels and such in order to make the two images stitch well).

Also, Please send me a pic of the original Zolac. I wanna see if I can stylize it.

LAWL. XDDD Yeah, they do look a bit more like crappy lightning than crappy antlers, don't they?

Well then, that's kind of freaking amazing that you did it right halfway by accident. XD But yeah, the original idea behind Zolac's physical embodiment was a human skull with deer antlers stuck in them. But I can't draw either a human skull or deer antlers, so my doodle came out looking nothing at all like that, or anything else remotely recognizable. But I thought it looked kind of cool anyway, so I decided that my crappy sketch was what he actually looked like.

That's some pretty masterful image recombination/editing you did there!

Hmmm, did it look funny with the bottom jaw attached? I didn't even really think about it or notice, since He looks so great as is, but technically my Zolac doodle's got both rows of teeth.

And argh blah, okay, I'll put that on my list of things to get around to doing. ^_^ Should I scan it and email it to you? Or snail mail you a hard copy? Or scan it and put it up on photobucket/livejournal? ...I don't think I have either your email or snail mail these days....

>< Dang, see there my brain goes again. It's editing things for me. I can actually put that back in. Mebbe I'll change the placement around so you can have two icons.

Also, Photobucket is cool. Might be faster that way :P
