It's awkward 'cause it's during the week and Dar and I are working, but it was what was cheapest. What's your schedule like, or do you even really have one? She's probably going to spend most of her days wandering around downtown by herself, but she expressed a specific desire to see the Pacific Ocean... I am strongly considering skiving off of work on Friday so we can make a group day trip out of it.
Uh, I really don't know my schedule in advance. I will be working at least part of next week but beyond that I have no idea. But I will probably have at least some time off. A beach trip would be fun! We need to go see Cape Kiwanda before you go back anyway. :p
Hey! I worked until 6, and here you are, all stealing my thunder! (But at least the bosses approved me taking most of that week off, so I won't just be skipping work... because that problem only crossed my mind after I booked the tickets. (-;)
evilhippo is... kind of a strange story. She's part of a group of my very oldest LJ friends. We were all in a crack!Fullmetal Alchemist RP, omg_alchemist (and later, omg_fma), from 2005 through 2008. Some of us knew each other in RL, some of us knew each other only through the game. But a few of us became really good friends and the lines started to blur. look_alive, my RL friend who I'm currently living with, got an apartment in Chicago with evilhippo and drownedcities, who we only knew from the game, and who only knew each other from the game. They lived together for a year. I went and visited once, and stayed for a week. ...That's the only time I've ever met her in person, but I know her really well online, and obviously my roommate knows her really well from living with her. She's been promising to visit us for like, two and a half years. XD;
If you can round up four players, I think you should get that Hungry Hungry Hippos game and play it, as a welcome, lol. WITH LOTS TO DRINK, OF COURSE. ;D
I've got the 22nd off if Carrie wants someone to hang out with to go on downtown adventures. I can at least show her around Sellwood. (Though, I don't know when she's getting in or if that's feasible..?)
