What's that, was I going to sleep?

Regarding events in "The Almost People" and the rest of this season of Doctor Who: this never happens and I feel extremely proud of myself... I HAVE A THEORY, and IT'S ONE I CAME UP WITH ENTIRELY BY MYSELF. ...Well, okay, TWO theories, but ONE of them I came up with entirely by myself. Furthermore, I've not seen anyone else postulate this second theory anywhere else... granted, I don't really travel in the main Who circles.
I... I think it's rather a good theory, actually; I'm really quite excited about it.
Okay.
-Thing the first. Moffat is on record as saying, regarding "The Impossible Astronaut", yes, that really is the Doctor, and yes, he really did die.Smug little bastard.
-Thing the second. In this most recent episode, "The Almost People", a great deal of time and effort is put into convincing both the characters and the audience that Flesh!Doctor is the Doctor in every way that counts.
-Thing the third. Right at the end there, we have this:
[DOCTOR] Your molecular memory can survive this, you know, it may not be the end.
And this:
[FLESH!DOCTOR] There may be a way back from this.
-Thing the fourth. Back on the TARDIS, we have this:
[DOCTOR] The energy from the TARDIS will stabilize the Gangers for good; they're... people, now.
WHICH BRINGS US TO MY THEORIES. Flesh!Doctor will be back, somehow. THEORY THE FIRST, which I've seen other people play around with: Flesh!Doctor is actually the one that gets killed by the Astronaut. THEORY THE SECOND, which I've not seen elsewhere, and which I like a hell of a lot better: original!Doctor will really actually truly honest-to-god die. Flesh!Doctor will replace him, and the energy from the TARDIS will stabilize him for good and he will become Time Lord people.
...WHAT SAY YOU, INTERNET?
In other news, the Doctor knows about his own death now, hahahahahahaha oops? :D

Date: 2011-05-31 10:57 pm (UTC)Also, one thing I should remember when setting out to watch new Who eps: for the love of [insert deity here], DO NOT WATCH BEFORE GOING TO BED!!! It makes it all that much harder to actually fall asleep! ;____; BECAUSE YES, I AM A GOOF. /0\
Also, your theories? VERY SENSE-MAKING. /nodnod/ I've yet to make sense of the ep -- I suspect I actually won't until I've rewatched all this season's eps.

Date: 2011-05-31 11:52 pm (UTC)Hahaha, I guess I have a pretty high Scary! tolerance; I enjoy the creepy and it doesn't really bother me. Totally slept like a baby, once I finally put my computer away.
I knooooow, I need to rewatch EVERYTHING. ...There are only two good things about the massive mid-season break we will need to suffer through. 1) Our wait between seasons will be shorter. 2) It will give me time to get my mom all caught up, and I can re-watch all of last season and this season with her and MAYBE FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. (I've almost got her caught up to the beginning of Moffat's run; we watched "The Waters of Mars" last night.)
By the way I got your email with all of your questions and I am VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT but it's probably going to be several hours until I get my replies back to you... I've started it, and so far I've only answered the first question and my answer was FOUR PARAGRAPHS LONG and I wrote, like, SEVEN PARAGRAPHS before I even got to your first question, and most of the paragraphs are hefty hahahahahahaha wtf is even wrong with me. XD; I HOPE YOU ARE PREPARED FOR, LIKE, WAR AND PEACE, BECAUSE THAT IS APPARENTLY WHAT I AM WRITING. But right now I need to go mow the lawn before it rains again fffffffffff—

Date: 2011-06-01 03:06 pm (UTC)I AM SORRY FOR BURYING YOU UNDER A PILE OF WHAT I'M SURE IS TRIVIA, but I did warn you! :D DETAILS ARE EXCELLENT. I AM VERY EXCITE ABOUT ALL THE DETAILS. WAR AND PEACE WILL BE A BONUS. ...And now I want to say "...without the peace" at you. :DDD
In other news, it's Jizzy's bday on Friday, did you get the notification? I desperately want to finish the Harlequin AU in time, so I can maybe dedicate it to her or something, BUT DANNY WON'T TELL ME HOW IT ENDS AKJFGHAJHGFH HE IS BEING SUCH A STUBBORN IF GORGEOUS ARSE!! D: I think I'll prioritise it tomorrow, and then send it to you for the usual ripping apart if I manage to find out what happens. >.>

Date: 2011-06-01 04:23 am (UTC)You'll know I was successful when instances of Steven Moffat hitting on Arthur Darvill mysteriously increase in frequency.OMG, how have you been hiding this love for Arthur Darvill from me?! Did you think I wouldn't find out?!
We have much time to make up for, Missy!
Also: "increase in frequency?" If there are instances of Stephen Moffat hitting on Arthur, I must be apprised!

Date: 2011-06-01 04:53 am (UTC)STALKER!Have I not let it slip that he's adorable? Surely I have. Also, I followed his Twitter for a while and then felt really weird about it, because it was all... actually, like, personal tweets. Also I think he is a closet hipster.
But anyway... I can't prove that Moffat hasn't hit on him in the past, but I'm going to assume that even a stray passing comment from me-as-Moffat would be a marked increase. It's a mathematically sound hypothesis. (It probably would've been way more accurate to say that there would be a significant increase in Steven Moffat being awkward around Arthur Darvill and avoiding eye contact, but "hitting on" is so much funnier and more succinct. (-;)

Date: 2011-06-01 02:35 pm (UTC)He is most certainly adorable! And you're right, we've discussed that before--especially our mutual approval for 60s Besuited!Arthur, and his alter ego: Roranicus. (I swear: they must find more excuses to put the boy in period costumes.)
And really, I don't think he is a 'closet' anything: we've all observed the boy's ridiculous fashion choices, y/y?
I can't prove that Moffat hasn't hit on him in the past, but I'm going to assume that even a stray passing comment from me-as-Moffat would be a marked increase.
I hope that's true. I really hate to picture Moffat making endless comments about Arthur's 'sexiness' the way he does with Karen!

Date: 2011-06-02 03:52 am (UTC)I'd like to think that Moffat could become an equal-opportunity hitter-upon of cast members. I mean, I love Karen, too, but as show-runner you'd think Moffat would have an obligation to spread the love around (at least Neil Gaiman tried to hit on someone else). (-;
And while we're all here... I stumbled across a bit of Death Cab for Rory tonight and haven't stopped snickering at it.

Date: 2011-06-02 04:15 am (UTC)Yeah, as re: Karen vs. Arthur I'd be hard-pressed to choose--I don't think I could narrow down who I find the most attractive. I suppose if Moffat can't control the inappropriate outpourings of praise, he may as well give the boys their due!
I am LOVING that macro! (But they need to capitalize 'Silence'...) I am going to put that track on now and join the snickering.

Date: 2011-06-01 04:21 am (UTC)I don't know, dude: I know we were supposed to learn a Valuable Lesson about what makes people who they are, but I'd still be a little creeped out if they replaced my Doctor with Folgers Crystals.
I think the fact of Flesh!Doctor's return is pretty much indisputable now: I just can't wait to see what they do with him! This is the first I've heard of what Stephen Moffat said re: The Impossible Astronaut, though. I might need time to incoporate his remarks into my own personal theories!
