I know I haven't made a real post in about ten years but before we talk about me LET'S TALK ABOUT BATMAN, or rather, let's talk about this very nice French girl, and how you should help her with her research project about Batman fanfiction!

French research work: Batman fanfic writers/readers wanted!

Hi everybody!

A French student in American media, I am currently writing a research paper on Batman as a cultural icon. This survey will help me focus on different aspects of Batman fandom ; it targets fanfiction writers and readers related to the Batman universe.

For me, Sociology + Batman + Talking About Fanfic = AWESOME, so I've been interviewing with her via email and having a blast talking her figurative ear off. MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE RANCH... I know, I've been pretty scarce lately. Or, I haven't been posting, but I'm definitely still here, lurking on my Flist every day. The new year thus far has been super busy; I spent all of January and half of February studying for and taking the GRE and applying to grad school and applying for a fellowship that could give me money for grad school and basically not allowing myself to have any fun at all while I did those things. Now I am attempting to resurrect my life from the shambles it fell into while I was busy elsehow. Like, maybe I'll send people their Christmas presents one of these days.

Oh, but I did get into grad school. Yay me!

...That's pretty much all I have to say for myself. HI, HOW ARE Y'ALL? ♥♥

My new friend in geekery, harechan, has decided, and rightfully so, that there was a gaping rift in Batfandom where a community devoted to any and all Robins should be. So she's done the proactive thing and made one herself! Yay!

So... like Robins? Watch/join robin_fans. It's where all the cool people are! ...All three of us so far. ^_^ But hey, you know you wanna get in ahead of the curve, so you can look condescendingly down your nose at all the newcomers.
