Real quick, two things I need to flail about with fannish enthusiasm.

One: I've already flailed about this on [livejournal.com profile] we_love_dick, but I really can't enjoy this in enough places, honestly. Some of you may be aware of my ongoing campaign, No Really, Someone Needs To Cast Matt Bomer As Live-Action Nightwing Already? Well, [livejournal.com profile] regonym brought this to my attention today: apparently, MATT BOMER REALLY REALLY AGREES.

♥♥♥

...Whyyyyyyyyyy isn't this real life yet? T_T

Two: I WATCHED PUNCTURE I REALLY LIKED IT YOU SHOULD ALL WATCH PUNCTURE I NEED SOMEONE TO FLAIL AT.

Okay so I bought this movie for like 49¢, I'd never heard of it, it got really mixed reviews, I wasn't expecting much, but CHRIS EVANS, so I figured it was worth some pocket change. It's based on a true story; Chris Evans plays Mike Weiss, a bearded, tattooed, often-shirtless, drug-addict, fashion-impaired, asshole, train wreck, idiot-savant small-time lawyer. He and his partner take up the case of a nurse who got an infection accidentally poking herself with a needle, and they get embroiled in this whole David-and-Goliath thing with scary powerful lawyers and government and medical supply company conspiracy. The story was excellent.

Chris Evans' performance KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE FREAKING PARK.

I fell instantly and madly in love with Mike. That asshole. He is like a Mike Ross who didn't end up under Harvey Specter's protective wing. He is like Tony Stark if he weren't rich and if he were a genius lawyer instead of a genius engineer. In the pantheon of Adorable Fuckheads he is the adorablest fuckhead since Harry Lockhart. HE IS SUCH AN ASSHOLE and he's so smart and so fucked up and sad and UGH I FUCKING LOVE HIM I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU.

I must warn that the movie features VERY HEAVY DRUG USE, like, pills, smoking, snorting, needles, LOTS AND LOTS OF ALL OF THE ABOVE. But you should see it. Because Mike Weiss IS AMAZING and I just. I need someone to watch this movie so I have someone to love him with me and I have someone to flail at, there is so much flailing I want to do but SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS.

DO RECOMMEND, especially if you are already a Chris Evans fan. If you aren't, you will become one. Here have some incentive.

HE HAS A BEARD. AND MANPAIN.

JUST LOOK AT THIS ASSHOLE. As far as I can tell he really hates wearing shirts. The ones he does wear are VERY BRIGHT and clash with his also VERY BRIGHT ties. Also he is covered in tattoos, my favorite is the one that trails up his spine. ♥

...WATCH IT WATCH IT WATCH IT PLEEEEEEAAAASE.

SHOOOOOOOOOOWWW I MISSED YOU SHOOOOOOOOOWW~!!

Spoilers~! )
zolac_no_miko: (Neal Caffrey)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH~!!!!!!!

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT.

Oh my god that episode was so good. T_T I am going to have to watch it again, I think, ohmigod.

And here, remember this? Relevant gif is relevant:

Only more of that. Just. Clean white light and a white background. Neal's face has never looked so beautiful.

But. I just. How am I going to survive until next season?? I really don't think I can.

...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~!!!!!!!!!!

Protip: someone who almost never drinks coffee should probably not drink two cups of light roast and watch the White Collar season finale. I CAN FEEL MY FACE VIBRATING.

We're getting to one of those times of the year where the ratio of Fun Stuff Filling My Life to Time I Have To Sit Down And Tell You About It tilts sharply toward the former. So, recap! I shall attempt to be brief. (HA. HA HA HA.)

So Ted's Blues workshop was super excellent and fun; first workshop I've taken as a lead... I feel accomplished! Having Ted and Lea as house guests was super excellent and fun, too. Seriously, best house guests ever, they were swift and sneaky about pouncing on things like dishes and laundry, aside from being polite and thoughtful and just nice people in general. I had a great time playing tour guide with them, too; we had a fun day at the National Park, and a fun day exploring lower Puna (and nice weather on both those days, too, which was a bleeding miracle), and I took them to the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory and Rainbow Falls and around the Downtown Hilo shops. And their last two nights we invited Amy over and Ted put on some music (which is largely the same as my music, apparently), and we enjoyed tasty local brews and played Candyland and Apples To Apples and I just barely beat Ted in an excellent game of Stratego and I introduced everyone to the fabulousness that is Bananagrams.

I snuck away on Friday night to go to the HAVO Employee Christmas Party, which was fun. My boss, Mark, was one of the guys in charge of decorating the Volcano House, and he and his buddies chopped down a bunch of faya trees and stuck them in the corners and strung lights on them. ...Morella faya is, btw, an invasive alien species, and one of the top two worst problems in the Park. So. BEST USE OF FAYA EVER. There was also bamboo and monstera staplegunned to the walls and lights everywhere and live Hawaiian music and a roaring fire in the fireplace and small adorable children running around, this is important for the ambience, okay... it was very nice. And Caitlin and I arrived just as the last of twilight was fading, and the view over Kilauea Caldera with the light in the clouds and the silhouette of Mauna Loa and Venus setting over the orange glow of Halema‘uma‘u, and a huge, full moon rising behind us, clear and bright... GOD, SO BEAUTIFUL. ...Anyway, the food was traditional lu‘au fare, all the good stuff, kalua pig and rice and laulau and mac potato salad and chicken long rice and poi and haupia and THE MOST AMAZING TAKO LU‘AU EVER and it was delicious. And after Santa showed up (what a rockstar he is too, seriously, all the dude has to do is show up and wave at people and everyone cheers, everyone's happy to see him, for serious, what a pimp), Caitlin and I decided it was TOO GODDAMN COLD to hang around the main party, so we took our wine and plates of dessert over by the GIANT MOTHERFUCKING FIRE and sort of oooooozed across the couches and just talked for a while, which was nice. ^_^

And so on and so on, BITCHES DON'T KNOW ABOUT MY TROPICAL RAINSTORMS, sekrit LJ is not so sekrit, plus enjoyable spam. )

Ohmigod, fandom dreams. I'll try to get down as much of it as I can... a lot of the details are vague or have gone away entirely.

Okay, so. Chin Ho Kelly. He goes to visit Kono at her home. (She's converted the area under the bleachers of some sports stadium into this fancy house. *shrug*) And Kono and Chin have this... thing going on between them. A slashy thing. Sort of. They've not done anything yet, but they're both interested, and they both know it. (I don't ship this at all, okay, not even remotely, this is entirely the fault of reading a bit of "Set Fire to This Card House" just before passing out.) So Chin's happy to see her, and Kono's happy to see him, and they smile at each other, and she leaves the... door? Front gate? Thinger at the entrance that is made of glass... open, and she turns and runs through the first... room? Garden? I don't think there was a roof. I vaguely remember fountains. Anyway, she runs, and he chases her, and she turns the corner to the left and disappears, and when he rounds the corner we're in another... garden, lots of water and, I think, papyrus and stuff, and she's rounding the corner to the left and disappearing again, and he's still chasing after her. And Kono runs into this blonde girl who is in her house, this blonde girl that Kono slept with last night. (I don't know who she is, I remember recognizing her in my dream, but I can't remember anything about her, and I think it's likely my brain just made that up.) Blonde girl steps up to Kono and kisses her passionately, and Chin rounds the corner and sees this. And he is very upset. And Kono is very upset. And Chin leaves.

...Later there is something about a train through the deserts of Arizona and football and the rest of the team (I distinctly remember Steve, at least) and my dad... I don't remember what that was all about.

And then I am with my extended family and we're celebrating my birthday and Neal Caffrey is there. Or maybe it's Matthew Bomer. (And for this I blame [livejournal.com profile] gyzym and "Certain Things in the Real World".) Anyway, he is celebrating with us because in my dream his birthday is April 10. And there are presents and we are eating dinner, and things are kind of awkward between me and Neal/Matt because I am crushing on him and I think he can tell, but I'm trying to be cool about it. And then later we are having a dance party in my bedroom in Hilo (??? There are better places in the house to dance) and my mom and I are trying to teach Neal/Matt how to swing dance by way of demonstration, but the music is very slow so we end up doing blues dancing. And my mom leads, and then I lead, and I am very pleased with how my skill as a blues lead is improving. Hopefully Neal/Matt is impressed.

...This is all of the dream that I can remember.

In the real world, last night was the Bright Eyes concert. )

Next weekend: San Francisco! [livejournal.com profile] platoapproved! Patrick Stump! My brother and sister-in-law at some point probably! :D

...Weird.

Matt Bomer was in me my dream last night. He, or rather, someone named Adam who was played by Matt Bomer, was in a band, as was [livejournal.com profile] bluerose16's character Mal. I was friends with both of them. I went with Mal to get his ears pierced (they weren't pierced already wat? XD;); he got both ears double-pierced and then he wore the GIRLIEST EARRINGS EVER, like, all dangly and gold and floral wtf (also he wore them BACKWARDS). XD Then he and Adam's band had a concert, which I went to. Metric opened for them. The concert was freaking awesome. In between sets, or maybe afterward, I was hanging out with Cory, and she passed on some gossip. She told me that Kelly, Adam's girlfriend, felt threatened by me, and Adam had told her he didn't like me. I got all upset and made her tell me the whole story in detail. I had a crush on Adam (obviously... I mean he looks and acts like Matt Bomer and he's a motherfucking rockstar who sings and plays guitar) and I was really concerned with whether he meant he wasn't into me (which I could live with, I mean, I accepted he had a girlfriend and all), or whether he was ambivalent, or whether I annoyed him and he actively disliked me, which would've made me very sad. I think we determined he probably meant the former, but I wasn't sure, and I felt all worried and self-conscious, so I went to go look for him. Cory passed on more gossip, talking about how he and Kelly had taken a break last winter and probably would again this winter (they had a difficult, long-distance relationship); I couldn't quite help feeling pleased by this prospect, and hope that they'd actually split up. We didn't find Adam right away, but we found Kelly, and also Adam's two-ish-year-old daughter... Sophie, I think? We weren't sure what the story was with Sophie; she wasn't Kelly's, and we weren't sure she was actually genetically related to Adam. She kinda looked like him, but kinda didn't... she had dark eyes, dark, curling hair, definitely looked like she had some Middle Eastern something in her. She was gorgeous but very weird... she was obsessed with babies. Kelly was looking all harassed trying to keep her from abducting other people's infants; she was very brusque with me. She left Sophie with us briefly, during which time we had great difficulty keeping her contained. Adam showed up, also looking harassed... I couldn't tell if he was being edgy around me or just stressed out by Sophie, and I was VERY WORRIED about it.

...Then I woke up.

My mad crush on/obsession with Matthew Bomer continues to grow. Having run out of White Collar episodes to watch/foist upon other people (I've seen every episode at least two or three times now), I've gone looking for other material. He plays Bryce Larkin (sexy CIA super-spy) in Chuck, so I watched the first two episodes. It's just about as thoroughly mediocre as I thought it would be. I gave up in disgust and went back to watching episodes from the first season of Bones for a day or two. ...Aaaaaand then I decided I couldn't live without Matt Bomer in my life, so now I'm watching only the episodes that have Bryce Larkin in them. XD; On the one hand, I guess I'm lucky he's a part-time character; on the other hand, I suspect the show would be a lot better if there was more of him in it. ...Check out this awesome clip of Bryce Larkin in the first episode. Go sexy Dick Grayson Matt Bomer go! With bonus Jayne Cobb. ^_^

I'll have to check out Traveler when I'm done with Chuck; I did some research and it looks interesting. I absolutely refuse to watch the soap operas. Sorry Matt, I don't love you that much. ...Also oh gawd it looks like he's going to be in some godawful romantic comedy called What's Your Number?, along with Chris Evans and Zachary Quinto. "A woman looks back at the past twenty men she's had relationships with in her life and wonders if one of them might be her one true love." ...Excuse me while I go throw up in a bucket.

In other news... had an interview with Netflix but can't take the job because I don't have a car. Working on applying for an AmeriCorps conservation-oriented job that prolly doesn't pay much but would be challenging and enjoyable and good for me. Still hoping to hear from Starbucks.

I've got memes to do but I think they can wait for a time that is not 2:30 in the morning. I should be asleep, like Dar's dad (he's visiting). I can hear him snoring, hee hee~!

Ta for now.

EDIT: Okay no, no amount of Bryce Larkin will ever make this show better. This will not stop me from stalking Matt Bomer in every episode in which he appears.
zolac_no_miko: (God-King of Hostilistan)
Dar's asleep, and I'm waiting while her MS Office copies onto my flash drive so I am physically capable of re-typing my resume so I can re-apply to Netflix, who's hiring call center agents in theory but never got back to me after I applied the first time. There's nothing else useful I can do while it's copying, so here I am, updating that Livejournal of mine.

So that external hard drive thing. It is covered under warranty which means I can have it repaired or replaced for free. What they can't do for me is recover my data. So I dropped it off with this guy downtown, and he's working on it. Last I heard from him, he's optimistic, but doesn't want to make any promises. So we'll see how that goes. I'm praying to all the gods he can help me... of course, if he can, that's another two hundred, three hundred bucks in the can.

My cold is finally 99% done. I haven't used a kleenex in days and it doesn't feel like I'm being stabbed in the throat with a red-hot knife every time I swallow. Thank the gods.

I think I may be convincing myself to get out of this sulk or whatever I'm in and try to get back to normalish life. You know. Answer phone calls, look at my email inbox, stop avoiding my friends. Look at that RP I'm supposed to be running. Anything not lying in bed watching television all the time. ...Maybe.

The television's been good, though. )

Saw Iron Man 2 last night. I found it exceedingly enjoyable, and look forward to seeing it again. If only because I was laughing too hard after some of the lines to hear what was said next. RDJ, Ilu.

Finally, my Quote of the Week: "I'm not a couple of black men, there's just really nothing I can do about that."

...That is all.
