Oh.

My.

God.

This week's Doctor Who.

I think it might be the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Neil Gaiman.

Neil Gaiman I love you.

Always.

I will love you forever.

Thank you.

I.

I.

I just.

There's no topping that.

My opinion: that was the best episode of Doctor Who that has ever been written in forty-eight years.

It's. I think I'm in a state of shock. Can't quite function. Bumping into walls when I walk.

I'm sorry, I really don't mean to torture you, but. It's.

Amazing.

Don't mind me. I'll just be over here. Bliss.

How the fuck am I supposed to fall asleep now. Watching it again would be a bad idea, I shouldn't do that.

Not right now. I have things and it's 2 a.m. and tomorrow is going to be a very long day.

But yes. Many times. Over and over again.

This episode is my favorite.

We're a week behind you with Doctor Who, but it sounds like it's gonna be a good one!

Hahahaha, ohmigod, and last week's one was so kind of meh. I mean, I don't hate it, even the less quality episodes are entertaining, but that one was definitely in the mediocre ranks. Still fun! But this one blows it out of the water.

BASICALLY THAT WAS EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WANTED.

From: [identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com
Yeah, I wanna rewatch it when I'm not distracted and spaced out, but DUDE. IKR?

It felt a little like watching an audio play at times, which sort of weirded me out. like, the House voice-over sounded a lot like Zagreus to me, so I wanna watch it again and see if I still get that impression.

I could fucking smell the Gaiman, dude. I could SMELL IT.

From: [identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com
I definitely got the audio vibe, too... and it wasn't just Zagreus-flavor... it also had hints of some of the episodes afterward, which involve hopping out of the universe onto a giant planet-sized inside-out TARDIS (though for entirely different reasons).

Okay, so, upon second watching House kind of turned into a giant House reference for me. And now I kind of really want that to happen.

From: [identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com
Yeah, the only audio play I've really listened to is Zagreus, so. ...Inside-out planet-sized TARDIS..?

HA HA HA YES I TOTALLY GOT THAT, TOO!

From: [identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com
If I remember correctly, it's in the anti-time universe thing that happens after Zagreus. It was more of a set-piece than a plot point, though it does make me wonder if Gaiman was consciously pulling from that plot line, or if it just happened to mirror it.

In my head, House was kicked out of the TARDIS and through some twist of the rift ended up in Virginia, where it slowly built itself into a proto-TARDIS, but House was kind of banged up, so all it really remembered were the corridors. And being evil.

I hadn't realized Neil Gaiman wrote it that helps explain why it was such a great episode. XD

So amazing on so many levels.

From: [identity profile] zolac-no-miko.livejournal.com
Ahahaha, ohmigod, it's all anyone could talk about all season! NEIL GAIMAN WROTE ONE OF THE EPISODES, IT IS CALLED "THE DOCTOR'S WIFE", OMG WHAT DOES IT MEEEEAAAANN?!" "NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE IS THE NEIL GAIMAN ONE, OHMYGAAAAAAAWWDD!!" ...Yeah. I have been very heavily anticipating this one.

IT HAS SURPASSED ALL OF MY VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS.

From: [identity profile] evilhippo.livejournal.com
So I just got back from Boston (and work) and finally got to watch this and... and... aaaaaah omg omg isn't that just entirely the episode everyone has wanted to write, ever, only written by Neil Gaiman and therefore even more awesome than necessary? I made actual grabby-hands at the screen a couple of times, even.

I'm gonna go watch it again.

IT IS EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WANTED. I sure do hope my screams and flailing didn't wake up my mother.

Srsly tho, NEIL GAIMAN WROTE A FANFIC, only it was a REALLY GOOD FANFIC because IT WAS WRITTEN BY NEIL GAIMAN, and then they went and MADE AN ACTUAL EPISODE OF IT.

Yeah, this is one of those situations where I'm glad I live alone. No one needed to see me giggling and squeeing at the "Did you wish really hard?" scene. ^__^

Dude, you so know that this episode was sitting around on his harddrive for the last three or four years, at least, if not the last twenty-plus. I feel kind of weird being okay about the Doctor being all "Woman!TARDIS! Sexy!" after pitching a fit last week over River ruining all the Doctor's asexuality, but... TARDIS love. TARDIS love is always okay (except non-consensual TARDIS love, but Doctor/TARDIS is all about mutual kidnapping and thievery, so it's all good.)

From: [identity profile] zolac-no-miko.livejournal.com
Pfffffff, whatever, I am dying until I can share this episode with my mother! When I saw her the next morning I grabbed her shoulders and shook her while exclaiming about all of the above with wide crazy-eyes. ...I've got to get her all caught up; she's still got the Specials of 2009 and all of last season to see.

Yeahno, DOCTOR/TARDIS, OTP has always been the case. It's totally ok because it's a completely different kind of relationship. He thinks she's sexy, but it's not like they can or actually would have sex. He thought she was sexy well before she ever got shoved into a humanoid body. Their love is PURE and has nothing to do with her borrowed woman-flesh (although, most appropriate meat-suit ever, y/y?).

The TARDIS has always been my favorite character. I cannot even tell you how happy I am, although I'm pretty sure I don't have to because I think you understand.

I wish I could get people in my family to watch Doctor Who. But my mom's got that thing against fiction and my dad isn't really into the whole quirky sci-fi thing.

TARDIS!Sexy is all about the adventure and adrenaline and not the actual sexytimes. Plus the Doctor has a well-documented fascination with women in a nonsexual way. This is my justification. (-; (Totally the most appropriate meat-suit.)

I've been consumed by the need to write Idris-and-Doctor adventures. There'd be no real plot to them, but the dialog would be awesome.
