More conjecture based on Sherlock 2.03; spoilers for that episode.

Watched 'The Reichenbach Fall' with my mother just now and.... )

Are you tired of Sherlock spam yet? ^_^;;

THIS IS MY THEORY. (Such as it is, I admit it needs work.)

Spoilers for 'The Reichenbach Fall', duh, plus speculation that you may or may not want to be exposed to. )

...I LOOK FORWARD TO BEING COMPLETELY WRONG AS USUAL. :D :D

ETA: NO WAIT. WAIT. I'VE CHANGED MY MIND. )

Sherlock, "The Reichenbach Fall".

First I'd like to take a moment to say KATHERINE PARKINSON.

Okay, now that that's out of the way....

-JIM MORIARTY, HOW IS IT ACTUALLY POSSIBLE TO BE SO FUCKING SEXY, I JUST CAN'T EVEN. AS;LKGHALSKFJFSGHJDSK.

-MYCROFT. HOLMES'. FACE.

-MARTIN FREEMAN YOU AMAZE ME. He will be the best hobbit ever. Just by, like, default.

OKAY SPOILERS. )

...NO SERIOUSLY HOW AM I ACTUALLY GOING TO SURVIVE???
zolac_no_miko: (Cumberdict Bandersnatch)
Okay, have we seen the present Moriarty left on John's blog yet? For all you non-Brits out there, [livejournal.com profile] b_c_draygon found me a region-free version on Tumblr because she is a darling.

Blind. Lust. Is all I have to say about that. Guh. JIM.

Not spoilery for the episode whatsoever, so feel free to indulge.

Meanwhile, Moffat has been leaving cruelly enticing Tweets, because he is a DICK.

And Martin Freeman's wife had this to say:

ASKHGSLKGHSKAJLSHGDSDKF HOW AM I ACTUALLY GOING TO SURVIVE??
zolac_no_miko: (Cumberdict Bandersnatch)
SHERLOCK SHERLOCK OH MY GOD.

So I was super excited about "The Hounds of Baskerville", because "The Hound of the Baskervilles" is my all-time favorite Sherlock Holmes story (I was just paraphrasing it on Haleakalā, as I do, whenever there is creeping mist, and/or moors).

And.

-OH MY GOD SO SCARY.

-ALSO OH MY GOD SO HILARIOUS, I laughed so hard at the end there my mom came into my bedroom to figure out wtf was going on. XD; ...And at the beginning. And other bits.

-SPOILERS~! )

...Next week, "The Reichenbach Fall", aaaauuuuuggghh I think I might actually die of anticipation oh my gaaaaaaaawwwwwddd~, I am so fucking excited, ESPECIALLY IN LIGHT OF... THAT THING. THAT I JUST MENTIONED. I MEAN REALLY WHAT IS GOING ON THERE, ASLHGALSKSHFSJLFSJ.
zolac_no_miko: (pay attention to the strangeness)
It's.

I.

There's just.

There are no words. I have no words.

Misfits, keep being freaking ridiculous. I love you forever.
zolac_no_miko: (Alice Morgan - Brownie's honor)
Luther. John Luther, I... I love you. I've been saying forever that you are secretly Batman, but... I think I love you more right now. More than Batman. I hope you appreciate what that means, coming from me. Because you don't have Batman's money or training, just stainless steel balls the size of cantaloupes, fuzzy gray morals, a gorgeous beautiful brainy box, and about ten metric tons of motherfucking swagger. Darling. You are my hero.

And your show is my favorite shoooooooooow.

I want more. ;_;
zolac_no_miko: (blood)
Dear BBC's Luther,

I am never leaving my house ever again. Ever. You've made it clear to me that the world is far too full of scary things, and it would be safer just to stay indoors and not open the door for strangers. Or anyone else.

Thanks very much for that.

Love (immensely),

Angela

P.S. Is calling Justin a puppy going to be, like, a thing now? Do say yes.
zolac_no_miko: (somehow I'm not threatened)
Ugh. Vacation's over. I'm not in Hawai'i, I have to go to work again, I've had about 7 1/2 hours of sleep total over the last two nights, and I might be coming down with a cold. THE PARTY'S OVER. Fml.

BUT. I have another recommendation for y'all. Misfits. WATCH IT.

The BBC has done again what they do so well, taking a formula and fucking around with it and producing something fresh and fun and AMAZING. This time the formula is superheroes. So, already that's a win. Everybody likes superheroes, amirite?

Only these aren't heroes. They're a bunch of young adults with ASBOs who, on their first day at their community service stint get hit by ~MAGIC LIGHTNING~ and acquire superpowers. They have absofuckinglutely no interest in using their powers to save the world or some shit, which is probably a good thing because they'd probably be pretty freaking useless at it.

The show is irreverent and touching and hilarious. The characters get up to all sorts of ridiculous epic hijinks; there's danger and mystery and humor and fantastic characters. It's a brilliant ode to the experience of being young.

The good news is that, although the show follows the usual BBC miniseries formula, it's two seasons in already, so there are twelve episodes for your enjoyment. I don't know how Misfits slipped under my radar the first
time around, but I'm hella glad I've found it now. I freaking love this show.

So yeah, if you've missed seeing this one, fricking get on that. You'll thank me.

EDIT: Spoilers not Steph in the comments, obvsly.
zolac_no_miko: (TARDIS)
Ohmigod I just watched the first episode of Single Father and and and... TTTTT_TTTTT DAVID TENNANT STOP MAKING ME CRY!!!

Gods, that man... as usual, a brilliant performance. Dammit he's so talented. His grieving is so heartfelt and heartwrenching, it literally brings me to tears. I can't, I can't, ohmigod I can't wait until next Sunday.

I <3 David Tennant, and I <3 the BBC.

Teehee, Lestrade, I saw you in the trailer at the end there! :DD

...Tonight's exciting cooking adventure was a sort of Asian soup thing with bok choy, tofu, and potstickers. The broth had vegetable broth, chicken broth, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and ginger in it. It's quite tasty. Even if David Tennant kept making me forget to eat it.

Okay, so never mind that it's well past my bedtime and I don't have time for the internet these days, Dar and I just watched the first episode of Sherlock, and in the absence of the ability to lick Steven Moffat all over (aaaaaaaalllll over) I find that I am simply compelled to post a spazzflail about it. Benedict Cumberbatch, your brilliance in your portrayal of Holmes is only surpassed by the sheer, ridiculous badassery of your name. In fact, I think from now on I will always refer to you by your full name, Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch. Gods bless your parents. ...Martin Freeman, you are equally as brilliant as Watson, and I do believe I shall one day get over the fact that you remind me very strongly of John Simm (are you perhaps his secret brother?).

WHY ARE THERE ONLY GOING TO BE THREE EPISODES? Tell me there will be a second season, and it will be longer.

Here be spoilers. DO NOT READ unless you've already seen the episode. I'M SERIOUS. This is Sherlock Holmes we're talking about. SPOILERS MATTER. )

Those of you in the spoiler handicap zone, see it, ohmigod see it, see it right now, see it, ohmigod.

Friday I took a couple of buses over to Lauren's house. I had a long conversation with a very nice, cute, and slightly ADD guy named Doug... we talked about Stephen King, books, movies, college, where we've lived, and what we want to do with our lives. Lauren picked me up from the Park and Ride and we ate tacos in her kitchen while her parents chilled in the family room, drinking wine and listening to Metric's "Live It Out" on high volume. We spent some quality time working on Aphelion before Lauren took me home, having to go to bed earlyish so she could go trapping for her kestrel. My friend Becca texted me to announce joyously that she had proposed to her girlfriend, and she had said yes, which was wondrous news. It's a good thing me and Dar were there to help her pick out the ring; obviously it was a winner. :DD

Saturday I slept in real late, then spent some time writing. Around midday Dar and I went to the community center and *GASP!* worked out at the gym. We did 20 mins on the ellipticals, did a sampling of most of the weight equipment, and finished up with a short jog on the treadmills- my first workout in a gym EVER in my life. Which is even stranger than it sounds, as I've been a regular athlete since I was five. I guess I've always been a bit disdainful of gyms, preferring to get my workout doing sports, preferably outside. But it was hella fun. And we've bought a 20-visit pass, so we'll be going regular, hopefully. Afterwards we loosened up doing a few laps in the pool. I climbed the rope again (which is a lot harder after a hard workout, ohmigod), we went down the waterslide, and then finally boiled our muscles in the hot tub as a preventative measure. I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow anyway.

Feeling sufficiently like we'd been pummeled by meat tenderizers and injected with happy drugs, we went to pick up Lauren, whose kestrel-catching venture was a bust, alas. Next week, perhaps- fingers crossed! We showered and ate salmon-salad sandwiches and bean salad, and Lauren and I marathoned the very first episodes of Doctor Who (OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH BECCA). We also watched a few episodes of Snuff Box, which is FUCKING BIZARRE and also amazing and awesome.

Today is also the birthday of Jesse Hajicek, one of my favorite writers. As a gift to him I have written a few shorts and drabbles about Star and Zander, the main characters of his fabulous webcomic, Metanoia (for non-Riversiders, you may remember Star from my pr0n earlier this month). Remember those drabbles I asked for, for my Sekrit Projekt? Yeah, this is them. I only had time and inspiration for four, oh well. If you're interested, here they are (cross-posted to [livejournal.com profile] riverside_hq), and thank you so much for the prompts!
