Still haven't organized my vacation pictures, but have a meme! Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] shichahn.

I have a list of 15 characters. Please propose scenarios in the style of: "1 and 5 bake bread together. Does the kitchen survive?"

or

"3, 7, and 9 wake up married. Does the universe survive? What does 10 think?"

In case you're curious, I've chosen my characters from the following: Cowboy Bebop, Dollhouse, Hawaii Five-0, Firefly, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Red vs. Blue, Supernatural, Teen Titans (animated series), Top Gear, and White Collar.

Today Sean made an obscure reference to Tolkien. Also it turns out he watches Supernatural.

...Yay~. ^_^

Finally got around to watching Supernatural season opener. MISHA YOU ARE STILL MY VERY FAVORITE.

That is all.

Dear Supernatural,

HOLY SHIT!

Love,
Angela

P.S. Crowley, I am still as madly in love with you as ever. Mark Sheppard, would you please consider having my babies?

Aaaaaand that's it for all of my shows except for Doctor Who, at least until various things start up again in the summer. ...At least I'll maybe have a little more free time?

In my continuing adventures in yardwork (thrilling, I know, but this is my life now; when it rains, it pours, but when it's sunny, yardwork), hacking apart banana trunks with handsaws and machete is still immensely satisfying, as is excavating the root mass with a spade. Whilst doing the latter, I disturbed (and was disturbed by) a centipede as thick as my finger and long as my hand. Oh, Hawai‘i. ...Well, no more of that today, anyway; the rain is back WITH A VENGEANCE. It's coming down so hard right now, omg.

Last night Mom and I went up to a friends' house in Kaumana for one of their Mauka Music parties. It was hella fun... potluck dinner with a whole bunch of people and lots of wine (and a dog and some cats, very friendly), and then after we'd eaten and talked story we gathered in the living room with guitars, ‘ukulele, ‘ipu, flutes, drums, tambourines, and various sorts of rattles and maracas to play music and sing. They've been having these parties sort of semi-regularly (my Mom only just recently made it onto the guest list), and they have these big binders with lyrics and chords... tons of songs, all the best, from Bob Dylan to Eric Idle to Queen Lili‘uokalani. We even sang "Crazy" by Gnarles Barkley... or, the cute twenty-something guy with the mad guitar skills and fucking amazing gorgeous voice did (music cruuuuuuuuush) and I joined him, while all the older folks listened, because it wasn't in the book and it wasn't written in the sixties, so they didn't know it, haha. Mom and I were almost the last to leave... we hung out and sang until one in the morning. So much fun, for serious.

In a few minutes I'll be off again... today is the monthly International Folk Dance party up on the Hocker's farm. More good food, nice folks, and live music. And presumably, when I get back, Doctor Who. Life ain't so bad.

Hope all is well with y'all. ♥

ETA: OH YEAH, I almost forgot. Last night my dreams mostly involved me hanging out with Justin Bieber, of all people. HE WAS AT MY HOUSE. He was actually very adorable and cool and sweet and personable. We became friends. I was hanging out with him on tour, and I went with him and his friends to check out this giant mansion he was thinking of buying. This place was insane, it was like a small country. ...Anyway. Wtf.

Hacking apart banana trunks with a machete is remarkably satisfying.

In other news, this is the most appropriate gif you will ever see:

THIS WEEK'S SUPERNATURAL WHAT THE EVERLIVING FUCK?!

This is where I am glad I am a Supernatural fan that is not really involved in Supernatural fandom, so I had no fucking clue this was coming. WHAT. JUST WHAT.

...I am going to try really hard to flail without providing any actual spoilers. VAGUE IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY.

Despite the fact that I love this kind of thing more than words can say, I was really worried at the beginning of this episode that I would hate it. But no, no, THIS IS POSSIBLY THE BEST THING TO EVER HAVE HAPPENED!! I hope I haven't frightened the neighbors. There was so much screaming. And laughter. And screaming laughter.

Let's have a bulleted list.
•MOTHERFUCKING VIRGIL, HA HA HA!!
•MISHA I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE MY FAVORITE. ALWAYS. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS, WHY ARE YOU SO AMAZING?! ... TT_TT
•BEST CELEBRITY CAMEO EVER!!
•Castiel how are you so fucking sexy all of the time, oh my fucking god.
•RAPHAEL CASTING, I APPROVE!

EDIT: There will probably be spoilers in the comments, obviously. You've been warned.

Okay, so. Just watched eps 2 and 3 of the new season of Supernatural. It really should've stopped with the last season, but I'm giving it a chance. And things are looking up! Dean's hunting again, yay. His reunion with the Metallicar was downright pornographic... TRY TO HAVE MORE EYE-SEX WITH YOUR CAR, DEAN. JUST TRY. Dean/Cas continues to write itself, recent events with Sam's car suggest that there really might be justice in the world, and the plot... hmmm. Either there are several plots going, or one really complicated plot that will tie together in some way that I don't understand yet. I'm actually kinda interested to see where this is all going. But it's definitely going.

In other news... I've done my usual thing where I sit at work and listen to my iPod and think about fandom stuff, and eventually I end up with a whole bunch of songs with fandom associations. I did it with Cowboy Bebop when I was rping Faye... now have the DCU version!

"Way Back Home" by Bob Crosby and the Bobcats - Tell me this doesn't remind you of the town of Smallville. Clark Kent totally grew up here.

"Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal)" by Fergie - Aside from the unfortunate references to "walking" and "baby steps" (TOO SOON! TOO SOON!!), this song is, imo, a perfect expression of Dick and Barbara's complicated relationship, from Barbara's pov, what with Babs holding him off at arm's length while she tries to get her emotional shit together. ...And she damn well better soon. OH EM GEE MY OH TEE PEEEEEEEEEE!!! T_T

Okay, this is where it starts getting complicated. And by "getting complicated" I mean "deviating from canon". We're delving into AU fanfic/headcanon territory here.

"Return" by OK Go - This is my anthem for Tim Drake and Connor Kent... if Kon hadn't come back from the dead. Which is a very fanfic sort of thing to happen, although I haven't written it and probably won't, as much as I love tragedy. And it is TRAGIC. *listens to song and SOBS*

"Angel" by Massive Attack - Y'all on my friends list should already know all about this, but it deserves a spot on this list. This used to be my tongue in cheek, el-oh-el wee!Tim Drake is Dick Grayson's creepy stalker, haha isn't it funny song. Now it belongs to scary!Timmy, and Tim can't have it anymore. Timmy doesn't really do "sharing". : \

"The Hero" by Ministry of Magic - *FACEPALM* This is so embarrassing. I almost didn't put it on the list, but. Bad enough this is Potter Rock... worse when I've taken Potter Rock and appropriated it for my own degenerate Teen Titans animated series AU/RP/headcanon purposes. The specific headcanon universe this pertains to is heavily inspired by my brief tenure at [livejournal.com profile] x_villainous_x. When I was in the game, the Joker had taken control of Gotham City, Batman was missing, and while there were a few other heroes and anti-heroes wandering around, essentially the Teen Titans, led by Robin, were the superhero presence in the city. And the Joker put a hefty bounty on them, so half the town was after them, and all of the Joker's bent cops, and... it was a bad time for the good people of Gotham. If I'd actually had time to rp, it would have been EPIC. ...Anyway, if you change a few lyrics in the song (and I do now, every time ^_^;;), it's a fantastic if embarrassingly sentimental GO ROBIN GO anthem for the situation, or some other situation in which Batman is missing and everyone knows it and Robin's really the only force for good when things are bad bad bad.

So far 2010 has been really lame. This week has not helped. This week is, apparently, "Please Kick Me Again, Universe" week.

First, good things... watching Classic Who and depressing sci-fi movies with Lauren on my sick days was fun. Watching David Tennant play Hamlet on public television was amazing. This week's episode of Supernatural made me really happy (omg Crowley/Mark Sheppard I love you forever); today's episode of Doctor Who did as well (omg Eleven/Matt Smith I love you forever with a side of Moffat be my bff).

Bad things... got sick, lost my job, bla bla, I mentioned that already. I'm still sick, btw. Anytime my throat would like to stop hurting would be fine with me, thanks. And it would be nice if I could breathe well enough to get some exercise.

Yesterday... yesterday my computer, which has been fiddly all week, decided to go completely insane. When I attempted to restart and was unable for quite some time to get the damn thing to start up again at all, I took it in to the Apple store over in Bridgeport. I had to drop it off rather than hang out while a tech worked on it, as everyone else in the country was very excitedly trying to buy the new iPad. They called me back within a couple of hours to let me know that my hard drive had failed. So I shelled out $154 to have it replaced.

So whatever, it's all good, right? That's what my external hard drive is for. And the Time Machine software I've been using to back up my entire computer so I can, in theory, wave a magic wand and have everything returned to my computer exactly how it was before.

...Yeah no my fucking external picked the same week to stop working. It was working on Tuesday! As of yesterday, however, the fucking thing won't even appear on my or anyone else's computer. Which I confirmed too late to do anything about it until Monday, since LaCie tech support is only available business hours on business days.

So FML. I had better be able to get my data back and the cost had better be covered by my god-damn warranty or I will punch every last... everything in the face. I'm sick and fucking tired of crying this week. My eyes hurt and I've got enough snot coming out of me without that, thanks.
